Message But the subversionRepository is configured in Integration Manager's
config file. I'm confused. He is the one watching SVN for changes,
right? So how do multiple installs of integrator help me? Am I missing
something? I only read the documentation didn't actually play with it
yet.

Thanks.

The Integration Manager must be on the repository (SVN) server. There
can only be one installation of this in a given setup. There can,
however, be an unlimited number of Integrators (build machines) in a
given setup. You have to use the "sc" utility (included in Windows) to
register the Integrator windows service under another name than the
existing installation ("Integrator service 2" for instance). Then
configure your installation to use a different port for inter-process
communication. How to do this is explained in the user's guide. The
setup application can't handle this scenario with multiple instances of
the Integrator service on the same machine.

I hope this helps.

Casper

Thank you for your answer. It would be better if the list was web based.
I mean that I would be able to ask right there on the web site.

As for two integrators on the same build server - I thought that the
integrator has to be installed on SVN server. Would your install handle
installing twice?

Thanks.

Hi Rastislav.

Thanks for you mail. I'd prefer to answer questions on the users mailing
though, so other users can benefit from the answers.

1. The concept seems to work very well, but Sin is still very
immature. I develop on it once in a while, but we are only a small
company (2 persons) and it will take the effort of many more developers
to take it from good to great. Currently, I estimate Sin represents
about 6 person-months of development.
2. No, not at this time. You could install two integrators on the
same build server however, but then the build server might build two
projects at the same time, causing a high I/O load. On a powerful
server, this might not be a problem though.

If you have any more questions, then I'd be happy to answer them.

Regards,

Casper

Hi Casper,

I'm looking into your SIN server and so far I like what I see. I have
two questions, if you don't mind.

1. Is this project out of the prototype stage? Is there still some
development happening?
2. Is it possible to have the integrator monitoring multiple
repositories?

Thank you.
